It's no secret that role-playing games are not as complicated as those of the 1990s.Over the years, many game mechanics and features have been simplified to make it easy for a wider player community to get started, but this also disappoints some of the classic RPG players.

Ted Peterson, co-creator of the Elder Scrolls series, also noticed this, but he doesn't think it must be.In fact, he said that RPG players seem to want to play games that allow them to make different decisions and explore multiple paths, and the success of "Bad Gate 3" is an example.

In the interview, Peterson talked about the trends he noticed in the genre and how he challenged this trend in the upcoming game The Wayward Realms.

He said: "I don't like the linear feeling of RPG, and the game world and the sandbox (for me) are too small, the storyline is too linear, and the players are forced to follow the steps. I hope we can change that,Make it more interesting for people like me who want to play games in different ways.”

He continued: "I'm glad to see people want to get out of this situation. I've seen games trying to do it, trying to completely break the limits. For me, I'm always on the side of pursuing freedom."

The Wayward Realms will likely also evoke memories of such RPGs, as it is described as the spiritual sequel to the first two Elder Scrolls games Arena and Dagger Rain.

"The Wayward Realms" has not yet been released for release, and the only platform that is confirmed is PC.When will this classic-inspired RPG meet players, we will wait and see.
