From its earliest start as a university project called ‘See You On The Other Side’ to the full Steam release in 2020, we hope to bring some feedback to the community by providing the community with multiple iterations that Lightmatter has experienced!

Use light and shadow to solve puzzles

Lightmatter is a 3D puzzle game, touching shadows is dangerous.The game is inspired by the classic first-person puzzle game, and the gameplay revolves around using light sources to solve puzzles.

As the prototype shows, we tried many different game mechanics in the control of light.But the core goal is consistent: through horizontal thinking, players can experience a satisfying moment of "sudden enlightenment".

Each prototype tells the many difficulties and challenges we experienced as an independent game studio in the process of releasing our first Steam game.As a brand new team, we learn everything from scratch – including how to design puzzles, write stories, run a business, and how to sell games to investors and publishers.
