Sony and several studios donate $5 million to California Fire

Sony and its several California-based PlayStation studios have announced donations of $5 million to the California Wildfire Assistance Program.

California wildfires that began last Tuesday have killed at least 25 people, displaced thousands and destroyed more than 12,000 buildings, which may be the worst-lost fire in U.S. history, weather forecasting agency AccuWeather estimates that the total loss could reach 2,750$ 100 million.

Sony said this week it will donate $5 million to support first responders, community and rescue reconstruction efforts, and other assistance programs.
