This time, Nvidia further developed this Flow Through design in the FE of the RTX 50 series, adopting the "Double Flow Through" design.In the RTX 30/40 series, only the fan on the rear of the graphics card adopts the Flow Through structure, and this time it is also applied to the fan on the front of the graphics card.

Taking the RTX 5090 FE as an example, the motherboard only occupies about one-third of the space in the center of the graphics card, and the heat from the GPU and VRM (voltage regulation module) is transported to the radiators on both sides.Since each radiator is Flow Through design, the cooling efficiency is high, which is how it works.In previous designs, the air from the front side of the graphics card would be blocked by the motherboard and pushed to the upper, lower or backboard side of the graphics card.However, with Double Flow Through design, the entire graphics card can work as a device that pushes the air inside the PC chassis from bottom to top.

However, the heat generated by the GPU with a TGP (graphics card power consumption) of 575W will flow all to the CPU side, so the top fan and the back fan need to be used to drain the hot air.However, it is not realistic to use a closed PC chassis with only one back fan now, so in a general DIY PC environment, there is no need to worry about this issue.
