At CES 2025, AMD officially released the RX 9070 and RX 9060 series graphics cards based on the RDNA 4 architecture.According to tests by IGN reporters, the RX 9070 performs very close to Nvidia's RTX 4080 Super, but the price is said to be half the price of the latter.

IGN Middle East reporters tested the Radeon RX 9070 GPU (16GB video memory) on a computer equipped with the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor. The test game was Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

As shown in the figure above, under 4K preset image quality (FSR, frame generation is all turned off), the average frame of the RX 9070 is 99FPS.

IGN reporters pointed out that the RTX 4080 Super graphics card has a game frame rate of about 129 FPS (also 4K preset image quality).Considering that DLSS brings about 30% performance gains in quality mode, IGN reporters said: "This puts the Radeon RX 9070 on par with the 4080 Super - although I need to test the 4080 Super without DLSS to be sure."

Of course, the excellent performance of this benchmark also comes from the CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, a high-end gaming CPU released yesterday, with an average FPS of 255.

Finally, IGN noted: “If that's the performance level of the Radeon RX 9070 we're going to welcome later this year, it's going to be a great graphics card for anyone looking for a mid-range solution."
