SteamDB, a new tag has been added to the Steam database site, allowing players to filter out games that use generative AI.

Over the past year, Steam has been asking developers to indicate whether generative AI is used and how to use it specifically when submitting the game to Steam.This information will then appear in the "AI Generated Content Disclosure" section of Steam.

For example, the AI ​​section of the Escape: Trial Steam page contains a message from the developer: “Over the entire development of our game, we may use AI-based tools to help our teams create content. Rest assured, What you see in the game reflects the creativity and hard work of our team. Examples may include pictures and/or posters we use in certain environments.”

Players who may not necessarily support using AI can use this information to determine if they still want to buy the game.

The Steam Store itself is not able to filter its games yet, and players cannot view games without AI-generated content, but SteamDB has now added this filter.

There is a new "AI Content Disclosure" tag on the SteamDB website, showing that more than 4,900 models contain AI-generated content, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Stars, The Final Battle, inZOI, etc.

Since developers who do not use generative AI do not need to disclose, and not disclose it violates Steam's terms, it can be assumed that games not in this list either do not use generative AI, or the developer chooses to hide it himself and does not disclose it.(So ​​there is a risk of Steam taking action).
