Steam daily special promotions upgraded, four games become six

Recently, VS. announced on steamworks that the number of four special games per day will be upgraded to six, and introduced the results and reasons for the upgrade of the 2024 daily special games.

"In 2024 alone, the daily specials have helped thousands of games get special exposure on Steam homepage and related tag pages, helping these games earn tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process," V wrote on it.

"Over the past year, we have found that running four ad slots instead of two is almost superimposed, which allows Steam to better recommend the right game to the right players. So, we expanded the daily offer to support six games a day so we can highlight the game more while giving us more discount options to better connect with the right users as they browse the homepage."

It is worth noting that the daily discount is not necessarily just one day as it used to be, V reminds: “The main exposure and promotion will last 24 hours, but the discount will usually last for a week, which allows more players to participate in the promotion and allows the game to get higher exposure on Steam’s bestsellers and other rankings.”
