"Civilization 7" Update 1.1.0 Preview

Hello, civilized fans!Since the release of Civilization VII, the Firaxis Games team has been focusing on positioning and optimizing key matters based on community feedback and team opinions.

Today, we want to provide an overview of the next update to Civilization VII.

The next update will be released on March 4

The next update of Civilization VII, namely Update 1.1.0, will be released on March 4, 2025, and will be launched simultaneously on PC and host platforms.After this update, the cross-platform gaming function between the PC and the console platform will be reopened.

Updated 1.1.0.According to community feedback, it includes many contents such as game experience optimization, game balance improvement, user interface adjustment, etc.The complete update prompt will be announced at the time of release. The following lists some key updates:

- Added explorable natural wonders: Bermuda Triangle (free to all players)

- Further tweaks of the user interface, completions and known issues fixes.

- Major modifications to cultural heritage paths and victory conditions in the modern era; AI leaders will be better at achieving cultural victory (so the phenomenon of Explorer unit stacking is expected to decrease!)

- You can now transform the holy city in the exploration era.Please note that the missionary units created by the player will always follow the religion chosen by the player

- Naval units will be able to disperse coastal independence

- Adjust the balance of the monument

- Adjust the balance of multiple modern civilizations

- Optimize military disbandment operations

- Fix known issues related to multiplayer mode and 2K account adding friends

- For host players: In addition to the above projects, all updates of previous updates of 1.0.1 patches 1, 2, 3 will be implemented.

We originally planned to launch our first game content "Natural Wonders Battle*" in update 1.1.0 on March 4.However, in order to prioritize the gaming experience of players around the world, the content will be postponed to the end of March.More updates will be explained below.

The first half of the paid expansion package "World Road Collection"** is also released simultaneously with update 1.1.0, which is included in the luxury version and founder version of Civilization VII.Players who have purchased these two versions or purchased the World's Strange Collection will automatically get these contents when updated 1.1.0.

The first half of the World's Mistake Collection includes the new leader Edalofres, the new civilizations Great Britain (Modern Age) and Carthage (Classic Age), as well as the natural wonder package containing four new natural wonders, namely: Fishtail Peak, Mount Fuji, Velcheron and Rainbow Mountain.

Patch 1.1.1 will be released on March 25

After the first major update of Civilization VII on March 4, we plan to launch the next major update with March 25 (which may change), namely update 1.1.1. Let's have a sneak peek at some of the update:

- Further improvements and improvements of the user interface; specific content will be announced in the update 1.1.1 prompt.Note: Continuous optimization of the user interface remains the top priority of the development team.The March 25 update is just part of a comprehensive plan for user interface optimization in the coming months

- Improve AI's reconnaissance and settlement logic, including reducing AI's overly radical "forward" settlement behavior

- Added fast mobile function

- Added the ability to customize commander and city names

- Rename the existing map to "Initial Position: Balance" as the default initial location for multiplayer games

- Added "standard" initial location, its map terrain is more difficult to predict, this button allows players to regenerate maps

- New Nature Wonders: Mount Everest (free to all players)

Update 1.1.1 also includes the second half of the paid expansion pack "World Road Collection", which is included in the Civilization VII Deluxe Edition and the Founder Edition.As the release date approaches, we will share more information.

Looking to the future

After March, we have included several suggestions from the community in the program, which are the top priorities of the development team, including:

- Continuous improvement of user interface

- Added the "Fight Another Round" button to allow us to continue playing after the end of the modern era

- New map type (for all platforms) and size (for all platforms except Nintendo Switch)

- Add new resource types and adjust map resource allocation

- Supports team function with multiplayer mode

- Local multi-person hot seat function

- Support module tools and Steam Workshop

- More customization options for game settings

- And more!

We are evaluating the amount of work required to implement these letters as soon as possible.Some of the updated content will be launched first in April (which may change), but many will take longer to develop, test and deploy.As the plan is gradually finalized, we will share more details in the coming weeks and months, thank you for your patience!
