According to The Verge, Microsoft is working with hardware maker Asus to develop a handheld console called "Project Kennan" designed to provide a "universal gaming library for Xbox and PC games."

Ronald told The Verge that the goal of any potential Xbox handheld device is to create an Xbox-centric experience, “not the Windows desktop you see today.”
