Mountaintop Studios, a developer of the competitive FPS game SpectreDivide, a former CS:GO professional and popular anchor, recently announced that the studio will close this weekend, and the first game developed by them will also be "offlined within the next 30 days."

The studio closed just a few months after the closed beta was launched on August 13, 2024.The company's CEO Nate Mitchell said in the announcement that the reason for the closure was "a lack of active players and revenue to support SpectreDivide and the studio's daily expenses."

"We have used the remaining funds as much as possible since the release of the PC version, but to this day, we have no funds to support the game. This means that Mountaintop will close this weekend," the announcement read. He also noted that the team has "considered all options" including finding new publishers, seeking and outbound investments, and even acquisitions.

From now on, all purchases in the game will be made by Jin Yong, and all items purchased by players from the first season will be refunded.
