Recently, French studio Sandfall Interactive revealed some of its inspiration in the upcoming turn-based RPG "Light and Shadow-33 Expedition".In an interview with Giant Bomb, creative director Guillaume Broche said that the production of "Light and Shadow-33 Expedition Team" was inspired by Studio Ghibli's works.

Asked how the studio was inspired by Japanese culture and its media, he said we may have seen the Ghibli movie about 25 times, and the composer of "Light and Shadow-33" Lorien Testard was also inspired by movie music such as "Princess Ghost," "Tongkat," and "The Witch's Own Body."

When talking about the artistic style of "Light and Shadow-33 Expedition", Guillaume Broche also mentioned that the development team wanted to capture the adventure and wonder that is often found in Studio Ghibli's works, such as "Spirited Away" and "Hal's Moving Castle".

He added: “Our director is not particularly interested in Japanese culture, so every time he discusses this topic, he has some more western influences and I’m trying to give him more Eastern influences, which forms the weird mixed style we have right now.”
