The Pre-Alpha test conducted in March 2024 focused primarily on validating the fun and design direction of combat systems.

We initially expected that the relatively small group of players with experience in hardcore action games will be a relatively high level of difficulty.However, the number of players participating in the test was far more than we expected, and we recognized that some players, especially those who are not very familiar with action games, find it too difficult.We apologize for any frustration this may have caused and sincerely thanks to all the players who have shared valuable feedback.

The Alpha test for Rocky Heroes: Defy Fate is scheduled to be held during the upcoming June Steam Next Fest, and you are sincerely invited to participate.

Before the test begins, we want to share some important information with you.

Difficulty adjustment

After about 15 months of development, the difficulty of this Alpha test has been adjusted to reflect the level originally expected by the development team.

Rocky Heroes: Defy Fate is designed to be an action game that is easy to get started for all players, while rewarding skilled players with faster passes and more gorgeous play.

The two available difficulty levels—simple and ordinary—can be switched at any time, allowing players to adjust their experience according to their preferences.We hope this change will make it easier for a wider player community to reach and enjoy the game.

New content

This Alpha test adds plot elements and combat areas.

In the first area "Northern Ruins", players will experience the plot advancement and related battles.After that, players can head to the Frost Cave, which focuses more on combat-oriented gameplay.

Both areas have undergone significant changes since the Pre-Alpha testing.At the request of many players, we have added elements such as interactive objects and traps.In addition, a "follower system" has been added, allowing players to fight side by side with their followers, or switch to operate other characters after the game reaches a certain stage.

While the core gaming experience is based on single player mode, once the plot line of "Northern Ruins" is completed, players will be able to meet other players in the town.

Added playable characters

New combat mode: special missions

Unlike the aforementioned, the mode is designed to provide a challenging combat experience.

As an extra independent of the mainline, it provides an excellent opportunity for players who like difficult combat to test their skills and find fun in overcoming difficult encounters.

During the Alpha test, the “Special Mission” multiplayer team was composed only through automatic matching.The ability to manually select teammates will not be available.Please understand.

About the properties of the Alpha test

Since this is an Alpha test, many aspects of the game are still under development.Please note the following during your testing experience.

During this test, the clothing and customization features received additional development attention.However, the related items, systems and acquisition methods are temporarily configured and may very well change significantly at the time of final release.With the addition of body shape customization features, some physical effects (such as body proportions or clothing material behavior) are still under development.You may find that certain elements currently feel incomplete or unnatural.

The equipment system has not been installed yet.The character growth in this test is temporarily built around the lack of equipment systems.

The weapon production and enhancement system is still under development, and the current state may feel a bit intuitive enough.The weapon itself does not have inherent properties, but once it is crafted, its appearance is free to use.The design intention is to improve character attributes by collecting various weapons.However, the current settings may give the impression that each weapon has its own attributes and needs to be upgraded separately - this is not the design in mind.

In fact, weapons do not have separate attributes.Any attribute bonus obtained by enhancing the weapon will be permanently applied to the character.

After this Alpha test, we plan to improve the system to make it clearer and more intuitive.
