The General Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government today (July 7) issued the "Several Measures to Promote the High-Quality Development of Software and Information Services Industry in Shanghai", proposing to carry out a policy pilot program of "game products developed by foreign-funded game enterprises in Shanghai as domestic games".

According to Article 9 of the document, Shanghai will support the agglomeration and development of the digital content industry, promote content production and operation innovation in the fields of games, film and television, music, etc., and explore new service models such as copyright pledge financing.This policy aims to attract international game companies to settle in Shanghai and enhance the competitiveness of the local digital content industry.

This breakthrough policy means that game products developed by many internationally renowned game companies including Supercell, Riot, 2K, Garena, Ubisoft, EA and Activision in the Shanghai branch may enjoy the same version number approval treatment as domestic games in the future.These companies cover all categories such as mobile games and console games, and their Shanghai team has deeply participated in the development of many popular global games.
