Embark Studios released an update announcement on the 7.3 version of The Finals on Steam last week, which contains a major security change:

“As mentioned in the 7.0 version patch notes, many cheating software today use kernel-drivers to read and write memory for unfair advantages. This means they run in privileged mode in Windows operating systems, making them difficult or sometimes undetectable in game clients. The technical solution to this problem is kernel-driver Anti-Cheat. We believe that this will be a must-have requirement for every competitive multiplayer game for the foreseeable future.”
