On August 20, One More Level revealed its new project "Valor Mortis".This first-person historical soul-like game was first released on the opening night of the 2025 Cologne Show with a two-and-a-half-minute trailer.The video highlights the unique background of the game: Napoleon's bloody battle against Eastern Europe during the early 19th century.The player will play the role of William of the French Empire and will be resurrected after his death in the opening battle.

William, who returned to the world, discovered that Europe had been eroded by plagues and monsters.Infected by the mysterious substance "Nephtoglobin", the resurrected soldier had to use the supernatural effect of the material while fighting the inner corruption and the horror lurking outside.The title of the game comes from this setting - "valor mortis" means "the courage of death" in Latin.

“After completing Ghostwalker, we have the foundation to develop a first-person perspective game, and this time we chose to enter the soul-like realm,” said Szymon Bryla, CEO of One More Level, in an official statement.Although it is a major change for players, the Polish developer is actually at ease: from "The Trigger of God" to "Ghost Walker", the studio has continued to launch difficult games with hard-core mechanics since its establishment in 2014.

The official said that "Valor Mortis" will bring a "new interpretation of the soul-like experience", and draw on its own development experience while integrating popular genre elements.Unlike the rapid pace of the Ghostwalker series, this work will adopt a deliberate slowdown, emphasizing precise operation and strategy rather than simply pursuing momentum.The game is scheduled to be launched on PC and contemporary non-responsible hosts in 2026 and is released by Lyrical Games, a subsidiary of Lyrical Media.
