RTX Hair Will Be Presented in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" Game in September. RTX 50 Series Exclusive

As part of numerous announcements in the 2025 Cologne Game Show, Nvidia confirmed that the long-awaited RTX Hair feature will debut in the "Raptors of the Lost Ark" game in September.

The RTX hair feature was originally officially announced in January 2025, when developer MachineGames also announced Nvidia DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation (MFG).Although the DLSS 4 MFG was implemented in a later update, the RTX hair function was delayed.

RTX hair utilizes linear scanning of spheres, a new hardware feature introduced by the RTX 50 series graphics cards.This new primitive uses spheres and unconventional triangles to render hair.

Nvidia says this not only fits the shape of the hair better, but also reduces the number of geometric figures needed to render each hair.

In addition, RTX hair is reported to provide better lighting and shadow effects while taking up less memory space.

Nvidia then clarified that in India, the linear scan sphere is only suitable for Blackwell GPUs (RTX 50 series), while other GPUs must follow the existing hair model.
