"Replaced" announces the latest real-time demonstration, developers introduce artistic style

Although Replaced has experienced several delays since its initial release, it looks like the game is gradually approaching its final release.In a new interview with IGN, Sad Cat Studios co-founder Igor Gritsay reveals more details about this gorgeous horizontal game, while showing some brand new real-life graphics.

In the interview, Gritsay talked about the studio's decision to choose a mix of 3D and pixel art visual style for Replaced.He revealed that the decision stems mainly from the studio's desire to create visually stunning games, but lacks the ability or budget to adopt a full 3A production level.However, he noted that while the studio had thought it would be easier to adopt this artistic style, "spoiler warning: it's not the case."

"Games like Inside are rare, and there may be works like Little Nightmare, but there are very few of them," he said, emphasizing that games with a stunning artistic style are often not released frequently."There is a reason - even if the game is fully 3D, it is extremely difficult to compose everything in a cinematic way. And our choice to make pixel art is equivalent to shooting ourselves in the leg, because it takes a lot of work to complete the right lens work to maintain the illusion of the elves' 2D effect."

When it comes to the gameplay itself, we see players playing as an artificial intelligence called R.E.A.C.H., working to uncover deep secrets by exploring the world.The numerous gameplay displayed revolves around the player exploring the occupied locations and having conversations with various characters in the story.

The real-life picture also shows a lot of cinematic styles of "Replaced", including dynamic lens work based on situations, and a large number of evocative scenes composed of exquisite light and detailed backgrounds, which are juxtaposed with the pixel art design of various characters in the game.
