Bungie Studio Head and CEO Pete Parsons announced that he will step down and leave the studio after 23 years at the studio, with Chief Development Officer Justin Truman taking over his position.

The news announced through a blog post on Bungie's official website that Parsons said he would hand over the "baton" to Truman and "full trust" Truman can lead Bungie forward.

"Today marks a new beginning. Bungie's future will be in the hands of a new generation of leaders," Parsons said.

Parsons has been the studio’s head since 2015, leading the studio through some of its most glorious periods, including the first release and success of Destiny 2, as well as some recent troughs, including multiple plagiarism incidents, several rounds of massive layoffs, and severe internal turmoil.Some former Bungie employees blamed Parsons and other Bungie leadership for all Bungie's plight.

Truman worked at Bungie for 15 years, from an engineer, designer, producer, to now as chief development officer, and eventually took over as the studio head.
