Atari acquires five classic game IPs of Ubisoft, which will drive series restart and expansion

Atari, a well-known gaming company in the game industry, recently announced that it has officially acquired all intellectual property rights for five works, "Extreme Cold", "I Still Alive", "Child of Eden", "Growth Home" and "Growth Home 2" from Ubisoft.According to the official statement, Atari plans to re-issue these classic games with its own brand and tap IP value through new platform expansion, content updates and multi-channel distribution.

"These game worlds have accompanied millions of players through unforgettable times. The acquisition will regain memories for old players and open the door to explore classics for new generations. Atari understands the historical value of these works, and we look forward to making them emotionally resonate with contemporary players in innovative forms."

Wade Rosen, chairman and CEO of the company, further emphasized: "Ubisoft and Atari are both famous for creating a deeply rooted game world. These works are not only good at playing, but also cross the times with unique emotional experiences. We are committed to recreating the classics in its original style, but also exploring new possibilities for IP evolution."

The five major works involved in this acquisition include:

"Extreme Cold" (2005): A third-person shooter of survival horror developed by Darkworks. It was originally logged on to the PS2/Xbox/PC platform, and it is still available for purchase on the Steam platform.

"I'm Still Alive" (2012): The action adventure survival game developed by Ubisoft Shanghai, originally logged on to the PS3/Xbox 360/PC platform, and is now on the Steam platform to continue to be sold on the Steam platform.

"Children of Eden" (2011): Music track shooting game, original login to PS3/Xbox 360

"Growing Home" (2015): Adventure platform game created by Ubisoft Reflections, first released in 2015, and landed on PS4 in the same year

"Growing Home 2" (2016): The previous work sequel, developed by the same team, and was launched on the PS4/Xbox One/PC platform in 2016
