Paramount is currently advancing the development of the Call of Duty movie, but it is still in its early stages and there is very limited information available for disclosure. But now, Activision collects feedback from players on what elements this live-action movie hopes to get creative inspiration from."
Activision distributed a questionnaire to members of the community feedback project "Recon Squad" to let players sort "the series of content that they hope the movie will borrow."Options include Black Ops, Modern Warfare, Zombie Mode, or "other content besides Black Ops and Modern Warfare".In addition, Activision also wants to know whether players want the movie to use a brand new Call of Duty story as creative inspiration.
Of course, Activision and Paramount will not make movies based solely on player feedback, but the two companies obviously attach great importance to collecting players' opinions.
Paramount President David Ellison said when announcing the development plan for the Call of Duty film, saying that he was a big fan of the series, especially the original World War II-themed works, as well as the later Black Ops and Modern Warfare series.
"We will create this movie with the rigorous, uncompromising pursuit of excellence from Top Gun 2: The Mavericks, making sure it reaches the super high level the series and its fans deserve. I can guarantee that our goal is unwavering - creating a movie-watching experience that will highlight this unique brand heritage, which will both make the long-time Call of Duty fans excited and attract a whole new generation of audiences."
Activision has been trying to advance the development of the Call of Duty movie for years. In 2015, the company founded Activision Blizzard Pictures and announced that it would build a complete Call of Duty cinematic universe. At that time, the team said that they had planned a "year-old" film development plan in the future, and their works would be based on "Call of Duty" sub-brands such as "Modern War" and "Black Ops", but none of these plans were implemented in the end.Stefano Solima, who has directed "Border Killer 2: Border Warriors", was once confirmed to direct one of the "Call of Duty" movies. Oscar-nominated screenwriter Scott Silver has also signed up to be responsible for script creation.
It is reported that the well-known Hollywood director Steven Spielberg once intended to direct the "Call of Duty" movie, but the series of requests he made were obviously not approved by Activision.
The next work in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 7, will be released in November, and its multiplayer mode test will be launched in early October.
