With the end of the phenomenon-level open test, the players of "Battlefield 6" can't wait, hoping to experience the pleasure of "flattening the whole map" again on October 10.The shooting game developed by DICE, whose open testing is perhaps one of the best-performing test events in recent years—hundreds of thousands of players have been waiting in line before it was opened.

Speaking of "flattening the entire map", the destruction system in the game is exactly in line with players' expectations. On the battlefield, rocket launchers roar, tanks shuttle, and fighter jets roar, developers must ensure that this core feature reaches the perfect level. But even if destroying the system is a key element of the series, it does not mean that developers cannot add interesting designs to it - obviously, the development team hid a "red button" that could blow up the entire map.

In an interview, DICE producer Jeremy Chab and design director Shashank Uchir revealed that the development team created this "domain button" to facilitate debugging of destructive assets in Battlefield 6.Of course, it is exciting to see the button start-up scene with your own eyes, but you must also be prepared for a sharp drop in frame rates.

"It's really interesting!" Chab said. "Every time we press the button, the team responsible for performance optimization will fall into a 'crash' - because when we designed the map, we didn't consider letting all the damage trigger at the same time. Someone had pressed this button several times before, and there was no doubt that many people on the team frowned at our operation."

Uchir explained that although the "big red button" is fun to use, the development team joined the design with the core purpose of testing the final destruction phase of each map.By blowing up all objects in this way, you can determine whether further adjustments are needed when the map is in a "damaged state".

“You can see what the worst is,” Uchir explains. “Is the cover on the map sufficient at this point? Do you need to add more elements? Do you need to add more assets to ensure that players can still get a good gameplay experience during the final damage phase? Yes, that’s why we designed this big button.”
