McDonald's Japan has launched a new campaign featuring themed burgers inspired by Street Fighter 2.

This event, called "Street Burgers", launches three burgers representing Long, Ken and Chunli.

Takashi's exclusive burger is the "Charred Garlic Mayonnaise Teriyaki Egg Burger". McDonald's Japan also released an animated promotional video online: Takashi sends a hamburger-shaped Hadouken to Akuma, and Akumaji responds with a garlic-shaped Hadouken. After the two collide, this burger is formed.

Chun-Li's exclusive burger is the "Japanese-style scallion fried egg yolk burger", and the accompanying animation uses a similar setting to show the battle scene between Chun-Li and Gulie.

Ken's exclusive burger is more simple, it is a "triple cheeseburger", and its animated clip shows the battle scene between Ken and Vega.

According to McDonald's, the "Street Burger" will be available in major stores in Japan starting from October 22 (Wednesday) and will be a limited-time menu item.

Previously, McDonald's Japan released a "Street Fighter" themed preview on Twitter, causing some people to speculate whether it was previewing a "Street Fighter" themed Happy Meal.

However, that's clearly not the case at this event - which means gamers who want to head to McDonald's for Street Fighter-related food may have to do so on an empty stomach.

In addition, there is a high probability that the "Street Burger" event will not cause chaotic scenes similar to the previous McDonald's Pokémon event in Japan, which was eventually stopped early by McDonald's.

The Pokémon event at that time launched a new Pikachu Pokémon card. It was originally planned to last three days, but it ended in just one day because "sales far exceeded expectations."

Later, there were reports that some people bought thousands of dollars worth of food, took out the Pokémon cards inside, and then discarded the uneaten food on the streets and left it to rot.Coupled with the news that McDonald's employees were illegally selling boxes of cards, these circumstances eventually led to the event being urgently suspended.
