Publisher 505 Games, developer Supernova Games Studios, and technical partner KUNOS Simulazioni (KUNOS Simulazioni) jointly announced that the "Assetto Corsa" series will launch a new branch work - "Assetto Corsa: Rally" (Assetto Corsa Rally).This new rally racing game will further expand on the simulation racing foundation laid by other works in the series. It will be launched on the PC platform for the first time. Its Steam early access version is scheduled to be launched on November 13, 2025.

This is the second entry in the series this year.Previously, Assetto Corsa EVO was released as an early access version on January 16, 2025, and is still at this stage; the official previously revealed that its 1.0 official version is planned to be launched in the fall of 2025, but as of the writing of this article (halfway through October), no official update has been released.

The announcement of "Asseto Corsa Rally" was accompanied by the release of a short trailer, which contains a small number of actual footage, showing the game's approach to rally racing gameplay.

Assetto Corsa Rally uses an adapted version of the KUNOS Simulazioni physics engine.The engine has been tuned to better suit the rally style - including rough roads, jumping terrain, more changing road conditions, dynamic weather systems, and more realistic vehicle driving performance in the various variables and terrain unique to rally racing.

Supernova Games Studios specifically mentioned in the press release that "each stage of each rally event is produced using laser scanning technology, which can accurately restore the real-life terrain shape, road undulations and characteristics, as well as surrounding environment details (such as the location of vegetation)."

In addition to the physics engine created by KUNOS Simulazioni, Supernova Games Studios also used Unreal Engine 5 to develop Assetto Corsa Rally to ensure that the game "has both high image quality and smooth performance."

The early access version of the game, which will be launched next month, will include the following content:

- 33 kilometers of real roads restored by laser scanning;

- 4 special stages (including 18 variations), respectively set on gravel roads in Wales and asphalt roads in Alsace;

- 10 iconic rally cars, covering Group B cars, World Rally Championship (WRC) cars and Rally2 cars;

- 5 game modes, three-screen display support and other functions.

The official version of the game 1.0 will add 6 special stages, a complete lineup of 30 cars, new game modes (including career mode, rally school mode), and support VR functions.At present, the official has not disclosed the specific launch time of the official version 1.0.

Notarberardino's point of view that there is a gap in the market for rally simulation racing games is not unfounded.After EA acquired Codemasters previously, it obtained the publishing rights for the "World Rally Championship" (WRC) series of games. At that time, it was expected that new WRC games would be released every year from 2023 to 2027, but the cooperation was terminated after the release of "EA SPORTS WRC 23".Codemasters subsequently confirmed that it would suspend the development of the future WRC series and other rally games, which disappointed players who preferred the high-simulation WRC series and players who preferred the arcade-style Dirt series.One month after Codemasters announced a suspension of development, Nacon announced that it would take back the development rights for WRC-licensed games.
