Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that the impact of AI (artificial intelligence) on the development of games such as "GTA" is still limited because AI inherently lacks creativity.

In addition to "GTA", Take Two also owns series such as "Borderland", "NBA 2K" and "BioShock".He said that while he was not a "naysayer," he believed AI's impact on game production would still be "limited."

One reason, he said, is intellectual property issues.He added that a bigger obstacle is that AI is "retrospective" in nature because it relies on huge data sets of old information.

"Assuming that artificial intelligence has no limitations, can we press a button tomorrow and develop a game similar to "GTA", a supporting marketing plan, and then release it?

He added: "AI is very good at anything that involves calculations based on past data and large language models - which is used in a lot of work at Take-Two. But anything that does not rely on these things, AI will perform very badly... Because AI models are inherently data-driven, true creativity in AI is by definition impossible."

Strauss Zelnick said that Take-Two's goal is to "create a series of works that can last forever", the most representative of which is "GTA", the highly anticipated sixth work of the series will be launched next year.

He said: "Our team is extremely creative, and what Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two, pursues and achieves time and time again is to create works that are close to perfection."
