The GameDevelopers Choices Awards recently announced the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award and Herald Award winners.The two awards were awarded to Sam Lake, the creative director of the studio "Mind Killer" and "Control" and Lucas Pope, an independent game developer of "Please Show Documents".

Sam Lake has been working at Remedy for more than 30 years and has worked as a screenwriter, director and actor in the production of games including Marx Payne, Mind Killer, Quantum Broken and Control.He also won the Andrew Yoon Legend Award at the 14th New York Game Awards.

Lucas Pope has developed many popular independent games, such as the above mentioned "Please Show Documents" is a timeless creative classic in independent games.In addition, the designer has worked at Naughty Dog and has participated in the development of two works: Uncharted Seas 1 and 2.

"Pope drives the standard of game narrative and mechanics through his work. He tries to create things that others have not done before, explore new genres and new ways to tell interesting stories," the organizer said.

The final list of the GDC Awards was announced last month, with Cosmic Robot and Black Myth: Goku getting the most nominations.

The awards ceremony will be held during the GDC, the San Francisco Game Developers Conference in the United States on March 19.
