On March 25, 2025, Norwegian development studio Funcom announced that "Dune: Awakening" will be launched for pre-order today.This open world multiplayer survival game set against the planet Erracos will be officially released on May 20, and players around the world have been less than two months since they landed on the most dangerous planet in the dune universe.

Inspired by Frank Herbert's classic legendary science fiction novel "Dune" and the winning film of the same name by Legend Pictures, it was created by Funcom's senior R&D team.
