Straus Zernick expressed his opinion on the topic of using generative artificial intelligence to make video games.
He made the following remarks in a recent interview:
“Those who think that just press a button and say, ‘Make a GTA6 and make it bigger and better, that’s all the code and marketing plans’ end up getting nothing available.
“Genetic AI is a combination of large data sets, large language models and computing power – and as I said, all of this is based on past data. What is generated is a predictive model.
“Some of the things we do are predictable, but truly creative work cannot be predicted. Major creative breakthroughs will be achieved by humans.
"That's why I'm not worried about artificial intelligence creating popular games, because it's based on existing data and based on past data. Popular games are future-oriented and therefore need to be created out of thin air. Being most creative doesn't just mean thinking outside the norm, but means there are no regular restrictions at all."
While Take-Two’s peers seem eager to embrace generative AI, Zelnik seems to be more indifferent to the technology.However, if you pay attention, you will find that Zernick's idea of this technology application scenario is actually very consistent with EA's use of artificial intelligence modeling technology and has disclosed it to the public.
