The long-awaited Final Fantasy 16 Xbox version has been released recently, but according to gaming technologist Digital Foundry, the Final Fantasy 16 Xbox port has several performance issues.

Final Fantasy 16 was originally launched as a PS5 exclusive game in 2023, and two years later, the Xbox Series X/S platform is belatedly.However, after Digital Foundry briefly analyzed the game's early cutscenes, they pointed out that the Xbox Series X version was far less than satisfactory.

Digital Foundry said in the analysis video: "Compared with the PS5 version, there are some strange problems with the quality mode of the Final Fantasy 16 Xbox print. First, the Xbox Series X prints are blurry and have lower resolutions. The Xbox version is always lower in resolution."

In the analysis video, Digital Foundry shows an early scene from the game: the scene is rendered at 1440P on the PS5, while the Xbox Series X is only 1224P.

“The difference in vegetation rendering is also very obvious, and some of the trees and shrubs on Xbox look almost ‘broken’, which is very strange.”

Additionally, in performance mode, Final Fantasy 16 runs at 1080p on the PS5, while on the Xbox Series X it only has 720p.The Xbox version has a lower level of detail than the PS5 version.

However, even on the PS5, the performance mode frame count is still unstable, fluctuating between 45 and 60FPS, while the Xbox version maintains a smooth 60FPS locked experience at lower resolution.All versions of cutscenes run at 30FPS.
