Recently, SE said at the shareholders' meeting that they learned about the success of "Light and Shadow: Expedition No. 33" and emphasized that they still attach great importance to the turn-based RPG type and plan to continue to develop such games in the future.

"Light and Shadow: Expedition No. 33" is a JRPG game. Although the graphics are modern, its gameplay is inspired by classic works such as "Final Fantasy". It uses a turn-based system, which is in sharp contrast to the recently released action-oriented "Final Fantasy 16".

Although SE did not disclose whether the Final Fantasy series will return to turn-based, they said that turn-based RPG is SE's "original and foundation" and is the genre of game that the company still cherishes, and plans to continue launching such games in the future.
