Analysis through USBView tool found that although the Elgato camera has supported synchronous transmission and does not enable the HID protocol, the minimum 5fps frame rate marked in its device descriptor may trigger the compatibility mechanism of Switch2."If the camera hardware cannot really output ultra-low frame rates, it will lead to failure of the system decision."

Ugreen announced that three cameras, including CM826/55512, will be updated by the end of June, while five models, including CM678/15728, have passed compatibility verification.Elgato has not yet announced the specific update schedule.

It is worth thinking about: PC devices can usually intelligently match the video modes supported by the camera, and is the current compatibility strategy of Switch2 too strict? Perhaps Nintendo also needs to improve global compatibility support through system updates in the future.Currently, when consumers purchase third-party cameras, they still need to carefully check the compatibility list published by the manufacturer.
