Russell Brothers founded an independent production company to invite senior players in the game industry to join

AGBO is an independent production company founded by Avengers directors Anthony Russell and Joe Russell, and now it recruits another gaming veteran, Pete Vanart.

Wanat has been appointed president of interactive technology at AGBO.Founded in 2017, AGBO aims to shape the "future of narrative" in film, television and gaming.

According to a press release, Vanart will lead the company’s gaming strategy “to take its investment in immersive digital experiences to new heights.”

Prior to joining AGBO, Vanart served as chief creative officer at mobile gaming studio Nifty Games and also served as vice president of gaming at Universal Pictures Digital Platform Group.

He also spent twenty years working as a video game consultant for large companies including Warner Bros. and Vivendi.

AGBO is no stranger to recruiting talents in the gaming industry.Last year, the company hired Donald Master, former chief creative officer of Epic Games and creative director of Fortnite, as partner.

In 2022, the production company also received a $400 million investment from South Korean video game giant Nexon.

Speaking about AGBO’s latest recruitment, Master said that Wanater’s “a deep understanding of game development” will help the company create a seamless and interconnected cross-media project.

"Under his leadership, we can create a vast universe that spans movies, television and gaming, providing audiences with a deeper way to engage our stories."

Wanatt said he joined AGBO to help artists innovate by "integrating IP into new forms of interactive entertainment."

He added: “I look forward to leveraging my deep passion and experience in gaming to support the internal team, expand the studio’s capabilities and strengthen AGBO’s culture of innovation and collaboration.”
