"Elysia Disco" developer announced new work Project C4 spy/spy war theme

Today, ZA/UM, the developer of Disco Elysia, warmed up their next game: with espionage and spy warfare, currently temporarily called "Project C4".

First of all, C4 is not "Disco 2", but is set in a brand new original world.

Secondly, this is not a 007-style spy story.Instead, it was inspired by John le Carré's novels, especially the Smiley and Carra trilogy (The Potmaker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Student Honors and Smiley's Staff).It also incorporates psychedelic sci-fi elements from writers such as Ursula Le Guin and Philip K. Dick, as well as Park Chan-wook-inspired action scenes.

ZA/UM told IGN that Project C4 will focus on behind-the-scenes struggles, spy wars, loyalty, betrayal... and failures.Failure will play a key role in Project C4 as it will continue a core element in Disco Elysium: the philosophy of "failing forward".Just like in Disco Elysium, failures in C4 do not cause the game to be reset or reloaded.Instead, the story will continue to move forward and consider your failures.This means you have to bear the consequences of your decision making, such as choosing who to align with, who to whom you are loyal to, and how to allocate your time.Of course, you are still subject to the randomness of the dice.

The world of [C4] is full of mysterious characters who help bridge competing geopolitical forces in a hidden conflict game.Players set out to complete a desperate mission that puts them at risk of losing their lives, or worse – exposing their true identities.

As an agent serving a suspicious global power, players find themselves trapped in a cruel, secret struggle for truth and influence.However, in the [C4] project, the mind occupies the central position.It is more fragile and powerful than the material world. It can be erased, changed, and reordered by means of regular use of psychoactive substances, and of course it will also be significantly changed.Players must do their best to make themselves strong in order to survive the violent canvas of the real world.
