PlayStation has announced plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the God of War series.

The celebration will include new in-game content for God of War 5: Ragnarok, new peripherals, and a physical art exhibition.

From March 20, players of "God of War 5: Ragnarok" will be able to receive a new free "Dark Odyssey Collection".

"Inspired by the development code name of God of War (2005) and the skin originally used as a reward for the game in God of War 2, we brought a classic black and gold theme to the 20th anniversary," Sony's Santa Monica Studios blog post.

This look set includes skins from Kratos, Atreus and Freya, as well as Kratos’ new weapon look.

From Saturday, March 15th to Sunday, March 23rd, players will be able to visit the special art exhibition for the 20th anniversary of God of War held at the core gallery in Los Angeles.

“The exhibition presents a series of new artworks inspired by God of War over the past two decades, including works by current and former developers of Santa Monica Studios, concept art for games, and unique souvenirs – an exhibition pays tribute to this classic series through art.”

The official also announced the launch of a new 20th anniversary review book.The book will include interviews with developers in the series’ 20-year history and will be released later this year.A collection of prints from Cook and Becker will also be launched later in 2025.

The official also announced more peripheral products, including a collection of vinyl records, new costumes and Yameng Gad plush toys.

"God of War 5: Ragnarok" has joined PlayStation Plus membership in January.

In the same month, reports were reported that Sony canceled two unannounced PlayStation online service games, one of which is believed to be the God of War series.
