Nvidia announced that after the 580 driver (probably the 590 branch), no longer driver support for GTX 700 (Maxwell), 900 (Maxwell) and 1000 (Pascal) GPUs.Starting with Nvidia 580 drivers, these three generations of GPUs will receive the last driver update.

It is worth mentioning that Titan V based on Volta architecture is also included.However, not all GTX graphics cards are losing support, and the GTX 16 series based on the Turing architecture will still be supported, temporarily safe.

In fact, Nvidia Fermi and Kepler GPUs (i.e. GTX 500 and GTX 600 series graphics cards) have long stopped receiving the latest GPU driver updates, so it is only a matter of time before the subsequent third generation of GPUs are stopped for the GTX 700, 900 and 1000.

It is arguably a convention for hardware manufacturers to abandon driver support for older components, and the aforementioned GPU family is about 8 to 11 years old.

The release date for the Nvidia GPU driver 580 series has not been announced yet, but it is very close to the release.Perhaps, it will be launched by the end of this year.

Given that the 580 series drivers will continue to offer updates in the same branch over the coming weeks or even months, GTX 700, 900 and 1000 GPU users will still receive updates regularly in the coming months.
