Last year, PlayStation launched its host themes for the brand's 30th anniversary and launched a limited time for hosting on the PS5 platform.Sony announced today that these themes will officially return with the system updates pushed globally on April 24.

In the official PlayStation blog, Sony Interactive Entertainment Vice President of Product Management, Sony Interactive Entertainment, revealed that the "audio focus" function will be added to this update.This setting can enhance the sound effects of the game environment in the headset mode, such as making the slightest sounds such as footsteps clearer and more discernible.

Talking about the return of classic themes, Kikuchi admitted that this was entirely due to the strong voices of players: "During the 30th anniversary celebration, we briefly opened the PS5 interface themes that pay tribute to the fourth generation of PlayStation consoles - including the classic visual elements of the first generation PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and PS4. Given the enthusiastic response from the community, we are happy to bring these console-style interface themes back to the PS5 home screen!"

After the update, players can find these themes in the Appearance option set by the system.Since the PS3 era, home screen theme customization has become a signature feature of PlayStation.

This return may be just the beginning - players are looking forward to seeing more in-depth customization options like the 30th anniversary theme (which can change the entire system UI), rather than the small number of first/second-party game themes currently limited to the welcome menu.
