AMD FX-9590, 12 years after it was released, can still run "Battlefield 6"

Although it does not support TPM 2.0, AMD's old CPU FX-9590 launched in 2013 can still run "Battlefield 6" and even achieve playable frame rates.

The YouTube channel Fully Buffered recently released a video trying to run "Battlefield 6" on two old CPUs: Core i7-2600K and the aforementioned AMD FX-9590.

Battlefield 6 cannot boot on the Intel CPU Core i7-2600K due to the lack of Secure Boot support; the AMD CPU is able to boot and run the game because it supports Secure Boot.It follows that the lack of TPM 2.0 support does not prevent the CPU from running games the same way the lack of secure boot support does.

Even though the AMD FX-9590 is an old CPU released more than a decade ago, it performs surprisingly well when paired with an RX 5700 8GB graphics card to run Battlefield 6.

In the conquest mode with up to 64 players, the game frame rate is stable at around 30 frames, and occasionally reaches 40 frames.At 1080p resolution, this is excellent performance for an older CPU.In other game modes, after reducing the resolution, the frame rate can even reach around 40 frames.

As expected, all of the CPU's cores were fully utilized in order to run the game, achieving 98% utilization at 4.65GHz.
