Nintendo launches compatibility query website to facilitate players to check the compatibility status of Switch games

Since one of the core selling points of Switch 2 is its backward compatibility with previous-generation consoles, Nintendo recently launched a special website to help players quickly understand the compatibility status of Switch games on the new console.The website is called "Nintendo Switch 2 Compatibility Information". Users only need to enter the name of the Switch game they want to query in the search bar and press Enter to view the compatibility results.

This website supports checking the compatibility status of physical and digital versions.Nintendo said that most Switch games can run normally on Switch 2, but there are still some works that are temporarily incompatible due to hardware or software limitations.

For example, the 2018 "Nintendo Labo" series is shown as "runnable" on the website, but because the cardboard peripherals it comes with are only compatible with the original Switch console, some functions cannot be fully experienced on the Switch 2.Other works, such as "NieR: Automata", which will be launched on the Switch platform in October 2022, are currently marked as "incompatible" due to issues related to game progress.
