"Resident Evil 9: Requiem" will be released in a few months, and players' expectations are skyrocketing.According to the official, this game has been developed long before "Resident Evil 8: Village", which shows that Capcom has invested a lot of time in production. However, it would break with the series' tradition.

Capcom has confirmed that "Resident Evil 9: Requiem" will not launch a trial version (experience version) this time, which is different from previous practices. All of the Resident Evil games in recent years have had demo versions available.

In a recent interview with Stevivor, game producer Masato Kumasawa detailed their upcoming game.He said that while a demo version of Requiem already exists (at Gamescom), there are currently no plans to make it available to the public.

"So, for the demo, we don't have any plans for public play right now. Absolutely. We just want to focus on finishing the game."

Excerpts from an interview with foreign media Stevivor:

Steve Wright (Stevivor): Can we talk about Leon S. Kennedy? There have been rumors or leaks about his involvement in Requiem for a while...

"Resident Evil 9: Requiem" producer Masato Kumasawa: Except for the information officially released by Capcom, the rest requires players to investigate on their own.So I suggest you not to believe superficial phenomena.

Given that AI can now be used to create videos and photos, we can’t tell what’s right and what’s wrong.Players are free to believe what they choose; all I'm saying is that we can't provide any confirmation unless there's an official release from Capcom.

There was a recent photo of Leon wearing an eyepatch, and it was hinted that there would be DLC or new costumes for Leon - but just to confirm, this is all fake news.

I understand that Grace was chosen as the protagonist because of her vulnerability – did the creative team draw inspiration from the likes of Claire Redfield or Rebecca Chambers? Or is her character different and unique?

Since this is a new game, we wanted to try some new horror elements. We think Grace is a little more timid than the other characters and brings a whole new sense of fear and experience to her than other characters like Claire or Rebecca.

"Resident Evil 7" boldly adopted the first-person perspective, and although "Resident Evil 8: Village" also retained the first-person perspective, it later also provided a third-person perspective option. "Resident Evil 9: Requiem" will also provide this option when it is released. Can you explain in more detail why Capcom initially decided to use a first-person perspective and then later allowed players to choose between first-person or third-person perspective?

So, here's the thing, when we released third-person perspective in Village, we got a lot of feedback.

We got a lot more player feedback than we expected, and the idea was, when we were developing Requiem, I thought to myself, "I want players to choose which version they want."That's it, so they can enjoy the game the way they want.

One of the biggest pieces of feedback we received from Resident Evil 7 was that the game was a little too scary, so I think to make that less scary we added a third-person view option. This will alleviate the scary atmosphere.

Do you prefer first-person or third-person perspective? Why?

I prefer third person perspective, mainly because I can see the character, see what the character sees, and feel what the character is feeling. We all feel the same emotions.

Incidentally, the director (Kōji Nakanishi) prefers first-person perspective, but this is to immerse himself. So, I like the way that both perspectives are preserved... players can experience both perspectives at the same time.

I am 43 years old. I grew up playing the original Resident Evil trilogy, including "Resident Evil: Outbreak" and "Resident Evil 2." I am very familiar with Raccoon City and Alisa Ashcroft. However, those who only know Raccoon City through Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake may not be familiar with Alyssa (although she was mentioned in Resident Evil 7).So, how important is understanding Resident Evil: Outbreak to playing the game?

I just want to say absolutely not.We make sure that both players who have never played Outbreak and those who have played Outbreak can enjoy the game to the fullest.

We chose Alyssa simply because she was a victim of the Raccoon City incident. She has clear goals and clear motivations, so it's easy to integrate her into the plot.

The "First Hour" demo of Resident Evil 7 completely changed my view of the game.As a long-time fan, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could experience the content of a masterpiece in advance, and this experience method is very unique, which is completely different from just trying out game fragments. Can we expect a similar experience with Resident Evil 9: Requiem?

So, as far as the trial goes, we don't have any plans for a public trial right now.Not at all.We just want to focus on finishing the game. Our development team is doing their best to make sure we create the highest quality game possible and make sure it's a great product.
