After acquiring Codemasters and launching the New Year's Edition "F1" game for four consecutive years, EA has now decided to put the brakes on the release plan for next season.Instead, they will launch paid expansion content for the existing "F1 25", extending through the 2026 season through new content.

EA said that this move is partly based on the positive feedback from players of "F1 25", and also taking into account the rule changes next season, it seems more reasonable to expand on the basis of the existing game.Lee Mather of Codemasters assured that the team will still be fully committed to the development of the "F1" series, and the buffer period created by this expansion plan will provide them with space to build a future blueprint.

EA has not announced the specific launch time and price of this DLC.But the real-life F1 2026 season is expected to kick off in Australia on March 8 next year, so the game expansion content is likely to be launched simultaneously.As for the next generation of complete works, EA confirmed that it will be released in 2027 and will be completely reconstructed to more accurately present contemporary racing sports.
